Just ask me! I do 'everything'
I’ve loved drawing since i was a little kid. I still remember the time in the kindergarten in Germany. I was the only Asian at that time and everyone else was German. My mother believes education is very important so she wanted me to try everything as a kid. I learned piano, swimming, ballet, writing, speech, baking, painting, and many more. I loved going to a private art school but absolutely hated swimming. She still tells me time to time how much of a nightmare it was to bringing me to the swimming classes. But believe or not, I got a full skin scuba diving license and I love water now.
My father is an adventurist. He loves camping, hiking, and exploring new things. If i wanted to do or want something he would ask me to write 10 reasons of 'why'. He gave me the opportunities to see the world with different eyes and to always think.
When I came back to Korea after 6 years of life in Germany I had hard time adopting Korean cultures. I continued going to private art school but didn't enjoy as much as i did in Germany. Few years later I left Korea and came to Toronto seeking for freedom in education.
I quickly adopted to the new environment and made many friends. Even with the language barrier I just blasted my thoughts and learned my second language faster than others.
I earned Honours in Art every year and graduated with an Art Scholarship from high school. And graduated with Bachelor of Graphic Design from OCADU (Ontario College of Art and Design University).
In 2009, I went to MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) as an exchange student for a semester. It was another eye opening experience. Most of the students there had different vibe than OCADU. I started seeing things out of box more and my perspective changed a lot. Last 2 months I travelled the west coast of the United States – visited many museums and galleries and absolutely loved them!
The following year, I decided to go to Korea for a year and absorb more experiences in different industries. I was a foreign English teacher at a public school and at a private school and of course I did quite a lot of design freelance jobs. As being in different roles and positions, I embraced fun and exciting characteristics in me.
It was 2011 when I stepped into the ‘real’ design world. I’m enjoying every bit of my vector. I love creating things with meaning and strong concepts. And this is what I’m trying to embody in my work - using my illustrative skills to create purposeful and meaningful designs for my clients.

Let's hang out
